• Environmental conditions: It is crucial to analyze the environment where the coupling will be installed, ensuring you know the working temperature, whether it will be in a place with potential corrosion, dust, or humidity. This can affect the service life and the type of maintenance required.
• Accessibility: The available space and mounting configuration are also important: radial and axial dimensions may limit the options, and you should also check for access or maintenance restrictions. Some models, like grid couplings, make the job easier as they can be replaced without disassembling the equipment.
• Geometric characteristics: It’s necessary to analyze the shaft characteristics, such as input and output diameters, and their length.
